Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)-Bangladesh’s stocks saw downward trend in early hour of trading on Monday amid choppy trading, the second trading session of the week.
DSEX, the prime index of the DSE, went down by 4.53 points or 0.09 per cent to reach at 4,837.82, after first 30 minutes of trade, when the report was filed at 11:00am.
The DS30 index, comprising blue chips, lost 5.65 points or 0.30 per cent to stand at 1,875.92. However, the DSE Shariah Index (DSES) advanced 0.54 points or 0.06 percent to stand at 1,193.75.
Turnover on the DSE stands at BDT 1.16 billion when the report was filed at 11:00am.
Of the issues traded till then, 102 advanced, 86 declined and 57 issues remained unchanged.
United Power Generation and Distribution Company was the most traded stocks with shares worth BDT 95 million changing hands followed by SPCL, Western Marine Shipyard, IFAD Autos and CVO Petrochemical.
The port city bourse – the CSE also saw fluctuation in early hour of trading with its Selective Category Index — CSCX – gained 0.07 points to stand at 9,060, also at 11:00am.
Of the issues traded till then, 47 gained, 54 declined and 25 issues remained unchanged with a turnover value of BDT 75 million.
