Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)-The Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) saw negative trend in early hours of trading on Sunday, the first trading day of the week.

DSEX, the prime index of the DSE went down by 3.17 points or 0.07 percent to stand at 4,405.63 points after first 30 minutes of trade when the report was filed at 11am.

The DS30 index, comprising blue chips lost 2.74 points or 0.16 percent to reach at 1,635.33 points. DSEX Shariah Index (DSES) also lost 0.98 points or 0.09 percent to stands at 1,017.25 points.

The turnover value on DSE stands at BDT 330 million when the report was filed at 11am. Of the issues traded till then, 60 advanced, 67 declined and 38 issues remain unchanged.

Newly listed Peninsula Chittagong was the most traded stocks with shares worth BDT 123 million changing hands till then followed by Delta Life Insurance, Beximco, GP and Lafarge Surma Cement.

The port city bourse – the CSE also saw negative trend at opening with its Selective Category Index — CSCX – lost 21.99 points to stand at 8,388.44 points, also at 11am.

Of the issues traded till then, 4 gained, 19 declined and 2 remained unchanged with a turnover value of BDT 12.73 million.
