Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)-The Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) saw negative trend in early hours of trading on Sunday, the first trading day of the week.

DSEX, the prime index of the DSE, went down by 16.57 points or 0.38 percent to stand at 4,311.83 points after first 30 minutes of trade when the report was filed at 11:00am.

The DS30 index, comprising blue chips lost 9.78 points or 0.61 percent to reach at 1,593.67 points.

The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) down by 6.08 points or 0.61 percent to stands at 986.88 points.

DSE turnover stands at BDT 190 million when the report was filed at 11:00am.

Of the issues traded till then, 54 advanced, 75 declined and 35 issues remain unchanged.

Lafarge Surma Cement was the most traded stocks with shares worth BDT 86.70 million changing hands till then followed by Bangas, Aftab Automobiles, Beximco and BSCCL.

The port city bourse – the CSE – also saw negative trend at opening with its Selective Category Index – CSCX – lost 16.77 points to stand at 8,248.10 points, also at 11:00am.

Of the issues traded till then, 7 gained, 21 declined and 5 remained unchanged with a turnover value of BDT 8.28 million.
