Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)-The Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) saw downward trend in early hours of trading on Tuesday, the third trading day of the week.

DSEX, the prime index of the DSE, went down by 6.59 points or 0.15 percent to stand at 4,370.17 points after first 30 minutes of trade when the report was filed at 11:00am.

The DS30 index, comprising blue chips lost 2.78 points or 0.17 percent to reach at 1,600.73 points.

The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) went down by 2.39 points or 0.24 percent to stands at 989.60 points.

DSE turnover stands at BDT 291 million when the report was filed.

Of the issues traded till then, 40 advanced, 77 declined and 36 issues remained unchanged.

Newly debutant FAR Chemical was the most traded stocks with shares worth BDT 153.83 million changing hands till then followed by Lafarge Surma Cement, Beximco, Appollo Ispat and BSC.

The port city bourse – the CSE – also saw negative trend at opening with its Selective Category Index – CSCX – lost 9.12 points to stand at 8,336.04 points, also at 11:00am.

Of the issues traded till then, 9 gained, 28 declined and 6 remained unchanged with a turnover value of BDT 56.27 million.
