Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN): The bourses edged flat Sunday amid low participation as investors remained cautious on the confrontational politics.
The General Index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DGEN) ended at 3,655.31 points, adding only 0.45 points or 0.01 per cent.
The DSEX went up by 0.38 points or 0.01 per cent to close at 3,468.56. The DS30 declined 1.62 points or 0.12 per cent to close at 1,282.75.
The total turnover on the premier bourse came down to BDT 1.40 billion a decrease of 17.9 per cent from previous session’s value of BDT 1.71 billion.
Of the 273 traded issues at DSE, 125 advanced, 118 declined and 30 remained unchanged.
Olympic Industries was the day’s most traded stocks with shares worth BDT 90.99 million changing hands. CVO Petrochemicals Refinery, Beximco, and Bengal Windsor Thermoplastic were the day’s next popular stocks.
Rahim Textile was the day’s highest gainer, posting a rise of 9.92 per cent while Bengal Windsor Thermoplastic was the day’s worst loser, slumping by 5.72 per cent.
The Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) also ended flat with the Selective Categories Index gained 1.01 points to close at 6,830.27 points.
Losers beat gainers 102 to 67 with 7 issues remaining unchanged on the port city bourse that traded 6.32 million shares and mutual fund units on a value of BDT 168.67 million. Rahim
