Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) – Bangladesh’s stocks ended in positive, after moving heavily between red and green throughout the session amid high turnover on Tuesday.
DSEX, the benchmark index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), gained 29.15 points or 0.65 percent higher to settle at 4,507 points.
DSE30 index, comprising blue chips, gained 10.95 points or 0.63 percent to end at 1,741 points.
The Shariah Index DSES also witnessed rise by 6.74 points or 0.61 percent to close at 1,102 points.
Turnover, the crucial indicator of the market, stood at BDT 4.10 billion which was higher than previous session’s BDT 3.18 billion.
A total of 309 issues traded on the day. Of which, 190 closed in green, 83 in red while 36 remained unchanged.
United Airways, Family Tex, Khulna Power, RAK Ceramics, Grameenphone, Square Pharma, Summit Power and Beximco Ltd were the top turnover leaders on the day.
The port city bourse Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) also closed high with its Selective Categories Index – CSCX – gained 43.77 points to close at 8,423.96 points.
Losers beat gainers 131 to 72, with 37 issues remaining unchanged at the port city bourse.
