Bangladesh’s stocks end positive

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)-Bangladesh’s stocks ended higher for the third running sessions on Thursday with turnover improved further as investors buying spree continued.
DSEX, the prime index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), ended at 4,675.91 points, gaining 12.78 points or 0.33 percent.
The DS30, comprising blue chips advanced 9.31 points or 0.52 percent to close at 1,786.57 points.
The DSE Shariah Index went up by 5.32 points or 0.48 percent to close at 1,101.31 points.
DSE turnover rose to BDT 6.86 billion, registering an increase of 7.85 percent over the previous session’s value of BDT 6.36 billion.
Out of 300 issues traded, 133 advanced, 127 declined and 40 remained unchanged on the DSE floor.
MJL BD was the day’s most traded stocks with shares worth BDT 570.75 million changing hands followed by ACI Formulations, Beximco, Delta Life Insurance and Lafarge Surma Cement.
ACI Formulations was the day’s highest gainer for the third day, posting a rise of 9.95 percent while newly listed Shurwid Industries was the day’s worst loser, slumping by 10.64 percent.
The port city bourse, Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE), also closed marginally higher with its Selective Categories Index – CSCX – gained 8.40 points to close at 8,757.85 points.
Losers beat gainers 113 to 87, with 25 issues remaining unchanged at the port city bourse that traded 9.72 million shares and mutual fund units, turnover value of BDT 408.93 million.
