Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) – Bangladesh’s stocks witnessed upward trend in early hour of trading on Thursday, the last session of the week, maintaining the previous day’s upward movement.
Both bourses - the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) saw upward trend till filed the report at 10:45am.
The key index of the DSE advanced 18.58 points, while the Selective Category Index of port city bourse gained 24.86 points within first 15 minutes of the day’s trading at 10:45am.
DHAKA STOCK EXCHANGE:
DSEX, the benchmark index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), went up by 18.58 points or 0.36 per cent to stand at 5,175.18 points, when the report was filed at 10:45am.
The two other indices also saw upward trend.
The DS30 index, comprising blue chips, rose 7.73 points or 0.41 per cent to reach at 1,866.66 points.
The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) gained 4.48 points or 0.36 per cent to stand at 1,222.95 points.
Turnover, the important indicator of the market, stands at BDT 1.31 billion when the report was filed at 10:45 million, riding on Saif Powertec and IFAD Autos.
Of the issues traded till then, 141 advanced, 59 declined and 39 issues remained unchanged.
Saif Powertec dominated the turnover chart with shares worth BDT 100 million changing hands till then, closely followed by IFAD Autos BDT 66 million, Bangladesh Shipping Corporation BDT 64 million, Olympic Accessories BDT 52 million and Argon Denims BDT 49 million.
CHITTAGONG STOCK EXCHANGE:
The port city bourse CSE also saw upward trend till then with its Selective Category Index - CSCX –advancing 24.86 points to stand at 9,610.72 points, also at 10:45am.
Of the issues traded till then, 54 gained, 26 declined and 14 issues remained unchanged with a turnover value of BDT 42 million.
