Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) – Bangladesh’s stocks maintained the upward trend at midday on Tuesday as investors remained active on some large-cap stocks ahead of year-closing.
Following the previous day’s marginal gain, the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) opened positive trend with trading activities remains low.
After first 15 minutes of trading, the key index of the country’s prime bourse advanced more than 12 points while the CSE All Shares Price Index of port city bourse gained 4.12 points at 10:45am.
After first 30 minutes of trading, the key index of the country’s prime bourse rose nearly 19 points while the CSE All Shares Price Index of port city bourse advanced 21 points at 11:00am.
After 90 minutes of trading, DSEX rose more than 27 while the CSE All Shares Price Index gained 91 points at 12noon when the report was filed.
DHAKA STOCK EXCHANGE:
DSEX, the prime index of the DSE stands at 6,252 points, advancing 27.28 points or 0.43 percent at 12noon.
The two other indices also saw positive trend till then. The DS30 index, comprising blue chips, advanced 5.28 points or 0.23 percent to reach at 2,250 points.
The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) also gained 1.99 points or 0.14 percent to reach at 1,375 points.
Turnover, the crucial indicator of the market, stands at BDT 1.65 billion, when the report was filed at 12noon.
Islami Bank Bangladesh was the most traded stocks till then with shares worth BDT 160 million changing hands, closely followed by National Tubes BDT 85 million, National Bank BDT 80 million, Rupali Bank BDT 66 million and City Bank BDT 52 million.
Of the issues traded till then, 111 advanced, 128 declined and 69 issues remained unchanged on the DSE trading floor.
CHITTAGONG STOCK EXCHANGE:
The port city bourse – the Chittagong Stock Exchange – (CSE) also saw positive trend till then with CSE All Shares Price Index of –advancing 91 points to stand at 19,362 points, also at 12noon.
The Selective Categories Index of the port city bourse also rose 59 points to reach at 11,702 points till then.
Of the issues traded till then, 60 gained, 70 declined and 24 issues remained unchanged with BDT 122 million in turnover.
