Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN): The prices of most stocks on the both bourses—Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) witnessed downward trend in the early hours on Tuesday, maintaining previous fifth session losing streak amid nationwide hartal.

The benchmark Index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSEX) went down by 30.55 points or 0.79 per cent within first 30 minutes of trading to stand at 3,811.76 points at 11am when the report was filed.

Of the issues traded then, 9 advanced, 108 declined and 9 remained unchanged.

Turnover is very slow and DSE turnover stood at only BDT 118.08 million till the report was filed at 11am.

Summit Purbanchol Power Company topped the turnover chart with shares worth BDT 23 million changing hands till then.

The Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) also opened with a negative trend and the Selective Category Index of the CSE lost 72 points to stand at 7,376.31 points also at 11am.

Of the issues traded then, 5 advanced, 57 declined and 8 remained unchanged.
