Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) – Bangladesh’s stocks witnessed upward trend in early hour of trading on Tuesday, the third trading session of the week.
Both bourses - the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) - saw positive trend till the report was filed at 10:45am.
The key index of the DSE advanced 15.62 points, while the Selective Category Index of port city bourse rose 12.87 points within first 15 minutes of the day’s trading at 10:45am.
DHAKA STOCK EXCHANGE:
DSEX, the prime index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), went up by 15.62 points or 0.33 percent to stand at 4,737.02 points, when the report was filed at 10:45am.
The DS30 index, comprising blue chips, advanced 5.23 points or 0.29 percent to reach at 1,770.54 points.
The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) rose 3.97 points or 0.35percent to stand at 1,131.43 points.
Turnover, the important indicator of the market, stands at BDT 561 million when the report was filed at 10:45 million, riding on Dragon Sweater and CMC Kamal.
Of the issues traded till then, 138 advanced, 44 declined and 37 issues remained unchanged.
Dragon Sweater dominated the turnover chart with shares worth BDT 48 million changing hands till then, followed by CMC Kamal BDT 34 million, Paramount Textile BDT 25 million, Titas Gas BDT 22 million and National Tea Company BDT 18 million.
CHITTAGONG STOCK EXCHANGE:
The port city bourse CSE also saw upward trend till then with its Selective Category Index – CSCX – advancing 12.87 points to stand at 8,862.13 points, also at 10:45am.
Of the issues traded till then, 40 gained, 19 declined and 12 issues remained unchanged with a turnover value of BDT 21 million.
