Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) - Bangladesh’s stocks witnessed upward trend in early hour of trading on Tuesday, the third session of the week.
Both bourses -- the premier bourse Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and the port city bourse Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) saw upward trend till the report was filing at 10:45am.
The key index of the DSE advanced 11.68 points, while the Selective Category Index of port city bourse gained 20.29 points within 15 minutes of the day’s trading at 10:45am.
DHAKA STOCK EXCHANGE:
DSEX, the prime index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), went up by 11.68 points or 0.26 percent to stand at 4,589.53 points, when the report was filed at 10:45am.
The two other indices also saw upward trend till then. The DS30 index, comprising blue chips, advanced 6.57 points or 0.37 percent to reach at 1,769.48 points.
The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) also rose 3.17 points or 0.28 percent to reach at 1,120.14 points.
DSE turnover stands at BDT 393 million when the report was filed at 10:45am, riding on Shahjibazar Power and MJL Bangladesh.
Of the issues traded till then, 109 advanced, 28 declined and 42 issues remained unchanged.
Shahjibazar Power Company dominated the turnover chart with shares worth BDT81 million changing hands till then, followed by MJL Bangladesh, Mithun Knitting, Bangladesh Steel Re-rolling Mills and National Tubes.
CHITTAGONG STOCK EXCHANGE:
The port city bourse CSE also saw upward trend till then with its Selective Category Index- CSCX–advancing 20.29 points to stand at 8,573.79 points, also at 10:45am.
Of the issues traded till then, 32 gained, 6 declined and 10 issues remained unchanged with a turnover value of BDT 12 million.
