Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)-Bangladesh’s stocks opened with a mixed trend in early hour of trading on Monday amid choppy trading, the second trading session of the week.
Both the Dhaka Stock Exchange, the prime bourse of Bangladesh, and Chittagong Stock Exchange, the port city bourse of the country, experienced upward trend.
The key index of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) shedded 2.57 points while the port city bourse Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) dipped 6.86 points after 15 minutes of the day’s trading.
DHAKA STOCK EXCHANGE:
DSEX, the prime index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), went down by 2.57 points or 0.05 per cent to reach at 4,540.15 points, when the report was filed at 10:45am.
However, the DS30 index, comprising blue chips, gained 1.11 points or 0.06 per cent to stand at 1,727.36.
The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) advanced 0.49 points or 0.04 per cent to reach at 1,036.72.
DSE turnover stands at BDT 254 million when the report was filed at 10:45am.
Of the issues traded till then, 53 advanced, 75 declined and 37 issues remained unchanged.
Beximco Pharma was the most traded stocks till then with shares BDT 76 million changing hands followed by newly listed Regent Textile, Quasem Drycells, BSRM Steels and Aftab Automobiles.
CHITTAGONG STOCK EXCHANGE:
The port city bourse – the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) opened lower with its Selective Category Index- CSCX –losing 6.86 points to stand at 8,442.05, also at 10:45am.
Of the issues traded till then, 10 gained, 21 declined and two issues remained unchanged with a turnover value of BDT 18 million.
