Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)-The Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) saw marginal gains while the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) witnessed negative trend in early hours of trading on Tuesday, the third trading day of the week.

DSEX, the prime index of the DSE went up by 6.38 points or 0.14 percent to stand at 4,374.28 points after first 30 minutes of trade when the report was filed at 11am.

However, the other two indices saw negative trend. The DS30 index, comprising blue chips lost 0.48 points or 0.02 per cent to reach at 1,610.19 points. The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) went down by 0.25 points or 0.02 per cent to stands at 998.14 points.

DSE turnover stands at BDT 218 million when the report was filed at 11am.

Of the issues traded till then, 61 advanced, 49 declined and 48 issues remained unchanged.

Beximco Limited was the most traded stocks with shares worth BDT 32 million changing hands till then followed by BSCCL, Lafarge Surma Cement, UCBL and Brac Bank.

The port city bourse – the CSE saw negative trend at opening with its Selective Category Index — CSCX – lost 11.46 points to stand at 8,335.05 points, also at 11am.

Of the issues traded till then, 13 gained, 29 declined and 18 remained unchanged with a turnover value of BDT 16.43 million.
