Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)-Bangladesh’s stocks saw upward trend in early hour of trading on Sunday, the first session of the week.

DSEX, the prime index of the DSE, went up by 24.65 points or 0.55 percent to reach at 4,479.93 points, after first 30 minutes of trade, when the report was filed at 11am.

The DS30 index, comprising blue chips, gained 14.03 points or 0.82 percent to stand at 1,729.69 points. The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) advanced 8.73 points or 0.80 percent to stand at 1,101.05 points.

DSE turnover stands at BDT 521 million when the report was filed at 11:00am.

Of the issues traded till then, 126 advanced, 73 declined and 40 issues remained unchanged.

Saif Powertec was the most traded stocks with shares worth BDT 48.38 million changing hands followed by Olympic Accessories, Square Pharma, Beximco Pharma and Lafarge Surma Cement.

The port city bourse – the CSE also saw positive trend in early hour of trading with its Selective Category Index — CSCX – gained 31 points to stand at 8,381 points, also at 11am.

Of the issues traded till then, 56 gained, 41 declined and 14 issues remained unchanged with a turnover value of BDT 37 million.
