Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)-Bangladesh’s stocks opened higher on Sunday, the opening day of the week, maintaining the previous week’s upward movement.
Both the Dhaka Stock Exchange, the prime bourse of Bangladesh, and Chittagong Stock Exchange, the port city bourse of the country, experienced upward trend.
The key index of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) gained 25.26 points while the port city bourse Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) earned 31.18 points after 15 minutes of the day’s trading.
DHAKA STOCK EXCHANGE:
DSEX, the prime index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), went up by 25.26 points or 0.54 per cent to reach at 4,666.30 points, when the report was filed at 10:45am.
The DS30 index, comprising blue chips, gained 12.10 points or 0.68 per cent to stand at 1,784.33.
The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) advanced 6.53 points or 0.58 per cent to reach at 1,130.77.
DSE turnover stands at BDT 460 million when the report was filed at 10:45am.
Of the issues traded till then, 111 advanced, 23 declined and 25 issues remained unchanged.
MI Cement was the most traded stocks till then with shares BDT 68 million changing hands followed by Quasem Drycells, Lafarge Surma Cement, KDS Accessories and BSRM Steels.
CHITTAGONG STOCK EXCHANGE:
The port city bourse- the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) also saw positive in early hour of trading with its Selective Category Index- CSCX- gaining 31.18 points to stand at 8,682.91, also at 10:45am.
Of the issues traded till then, 50 gained, 10 declined and 5 issues remained unchanged with a turnover value of BDT 35 million.
