Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) - Bangladesh’s stocks witnessed upward trend in early hour of trading on Sunday, the opening session of the week.
Both bourses -- the premier bourse Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and the port city bourse Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) saw upward trend when filed the report at 10:45am.
The key index of the DSE advanced 10.15 points, while the Selective Category Index of port city bourse rose up by 13.80 points within 15 minutes of the day’s trading at 10:45am.
DHAKA STOCK EXCHANGE
DSEX, the prime index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), went up by 10.15 points or 0.22 percent to stand at 4,587.48 points, when the report was filed at 10:45am.
The two other indices also saw positive trend till then. The DS30 index, comprising blue chips, advanced 4.70 points or 0.26 percent to reach at 1,799.90 points.
The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) also gained 4.16 points or 0.37 percent to reach at 1,122.20 points.
DSE turnover stands at BDT 270 million when the report was filed at 10:45am, riding on Lafarge Surma Cement and Bangladesh Shipping Corporation.
Of the issues traded till then, 93 advanced, 40 declined and 46 issues remained unchanged.
Lafarge Surma Cement dominated the turnover chart with shares worth BDT 43 million changing hands till then, followed by Bangladesh Shipping Corporation, Beximco Pharmaceuticals, Bangladesh Submarine Cable Company and Titas Gas.
CHITTAGONG STOCK EXCHANGE
The port city bourse CSE also saw positive trend till then with its Selective Category Index- CSCX–gaining 13.80 points to stand at 8,579.26 points, also at 10:45am.
Of the issues traded till then, 26 gained, 24 declined and 10 issues remained unchanged with a turnover value of BDT 20 million.
