Bangladesh’s stocks open optimistic after Eid vacation

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)- The Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) saw sharp rise in early hours of trading on Sunday, the opening day after 9-day Eid, Puja and weekly holidays.
DSEX, the prime index of the DSE went up by 46.00 points or 0.87 percent to stands at 5,283.72 points after first 30 minutes of trade when the report was filed at 11am.
The DS30 index, comprising blue chips gained 4.62 points or 0.23 percent to reach at 1,997.80 points. The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) rose 7.38 points or 0.60 percent to stands at 1,226.62 points.  
DSE turnover stands at BDT 1.27 billion when the report was filed at 11am.
Of the issues traded till then, 180 advanced, 28 declined and 15 issues remain unchanged.
Familytex (BD) was the most traded stocks with shares worth BDT 92 million changing hands till then followed by KPCL, City Bank, Delta Life Insurance, and Summit Power.
The port city bourse – the CSE also saw steep gain in early hour with its Selective Category Index -- CSCX – gained 62.52 points to stand at 9,844.06 points, also at 11am.
Of the issues traded till then, 73 gained, 23 declined and 3 remained unchanged with a turnover value of BDT 75 million.
