Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) - Bangladesh’s stocks witnessed upward trend in early hour of trading on Tuesday, the third session after Eid-ul-Azha vacation.
Both bourses - the premier bourse Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and the while the port city bourse Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) saw positive trend till the report was filing at 10:45am.
The key index of the DSE advanced 6.16 points, while the Selective Category Index of port city bourse gained 10.96 points within 15 minutes of the day’s trading at 10:45am.
DHAKA STOCK EXCHANGE:
DSEX, the prime index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), went up by 6.16 points or 0.13 percent to stand at 4,632.34 points, when the report was filed at 10:45am.
The two other indices saw positive trend till then. The DS30 index, comprising blue chips, advanced 1.42 points or 0.08 percent to reach at 1,765.10 points.
The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) also gained 1.59 points or 0.14 percent to stand at 1,111.40 points.
DSE turnover stands at BDT 325 million when the report was filed at 10:45am, riding on Bangladesh Shipping Corporation and Doreen Power.
Of the issues traded till then, 94 advanced, 37 declined and 47 issues remained unchanged.
Bangladesh Shipping Corporation dominated the turnover chart with shares worth BDT 52 million changing hands till then, closely followed by Doreen Power, National Housing Finance and Investments, United Power and ACME Laboratories.
CHITTAGONG STOCK EXCHANGE:
The port city bourse CSE also saw positive trend till then with its Selective Category Index- CSCX–advancing 10.96 points to stand at 8,668.06 points, also at 10:45am.
Of the issues traded till then, 23 gained, 16 declined and 10 issues remained unchanged with a turnover value of BDT 12 million.
