Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) – Bangladesh’s stocks witnessed positive trend in early hour of trading on Monday, the second session of the week, as investors were active on sector specific stocks.
Both bourse - the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) saw positive trend till the report was filed at 10:45am.
The key index of the DSE advanced 8.29 points, while the Selective Category Index of port city bourse rose 15.88 points within 15 minutes of the day’s trading at 11am.
DHAKA STOCK EXCHANGE:
DSEX, the prime index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), went up by 8.29 points or 0.17 percent to stand at 4,701.29 points, when the report was filed at 10:45am.
The two other indices also saw positive trend till then. The DS30 index, comprising blue chips, advanced 3.12 points or 0.18 percent to reach at 1,757.32 points.
The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) gained 2.40 points or 0.21 percent to stand at 1,119.95 points.
DSE turnover stands at BDT 628 million when the report was filed at 10:45am, riding on Doreen Power Generations and Systems and newly listed Fortune Shoes.
Of the issues traded till then, 117 advanced, 56 declined and 36 issues remained unchanged.
Doreen Power dominated the turnover chart with shares worth BDT 117 million changing hands till then, followed by fortune Shoes BDT 112 million, Miracle Industries BDT 47 million, Mutual Trust Bank BDT 25 million and MJL Bangladesh BDT 24 million.
CHITTAGONG STOCK EXCHANGE:
The port city bourse CSE also saw positive trend till then with its Selective Category Index- CSCX–advancing 15.88 points to stand at 8,784.07 points, also at 10:45am.
Of the issues traded till then, 31 gained, 10 declined and 04 issues remained unchanged with a turnover value of BDT 18 million.
