Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) – Bangladesh’s stocks witnessed upward trend in early hour of trading on Tuesday, the third session of the week, as investors were active on sector specific stocks.
Both bourse - the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) saw positive trend till the report was filed at 10:45am.
The key index of the DSE advanced 5.51 points, while the Selective Category Index of port city bourse rose 7.26 points within 15 minutes of the day’s trading at 11am.
DHAKA STOCK EXCHANGE:
DSEX, the prime index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), went up by 5.51 points or 0.12 percent to stand at 4,699.21 points, when the report was filed at 10:45am.
The two other indices also saw positive trend till then. The DS30 index, comprising blue chips, advanced 3.65 points or 0.21percent to reach at 1,761.18 points.
The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) gained 1.68 points or 0.15 percent to stand at 1,121.28 points.
DSE turnover stands at BDT 306 million when the report was filed at 10:45am, riding on Doreen Power Generations and Systems and Mithun Knitting.
Of the issues traded till then, 102 advanced, 38 declined and 36 issues remained unchanged.
Doreen Power dominated the turnover chart with shares worth BDT 117 million changing hands till then, followed by Argon Denim BDT 23 million, Mithun Knitting BDT 22 million, Miracle Industries BDT 21 million and Fortune Shoes BDT 16 million.
CHITTAGONG STOCK EXCHANGE:
The port city bourse CSE also saw positive trend till then with its Selective Category Index- CSCX–advancing 7.26 points to stand at 8,777.30 points, also at 10:45am.
Of the issues traded till then, 28 gained, 08 declined and 04 issues remained unchanged with a turnover value of BDT 12 million.
