Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)-The Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) saw upward trend in early hours of trading on Wednesday, the fourth trading day of the week.

DSEX, the prime index of the DSE went up by 15.01 points or 0.34 percent to stand at 4,407.95 points after first 30 minutes of trade when the report was filed at 11am.

The DS30 index, comprising blue chips gained 5.36 points or 0.33 percent to reach at 1,619.74 points. The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) moved up by 4.81 points or 0.48 percent to stands at 1,005.56 points.

DSE turnover stands at BDT 365.31 million when the report was filed at 11am.

Of the issues traded till then, 110 advanced, 36 declined and 35 issues remained unchanged.

Beximco Limited was the most traded stocks with shares worth BDT 50.40  million changing hands till then followed by Lafarge Surma Cement, Beximco Pharma, Summit Power and ACI.

The port city bourse – the CSE also saw positive trend at opening with its Selective Category Index — CSCX – gained 16.83 points to stand at 8,399.93 points, also at 11am.

Of the issues traded till then, 42 gained, 13 declined and 7 remained unchanged with a turnover value of BDT 23.24 million.
