Bangladesh’s stocks open red

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)- The Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) witnessed negative trend in early hours of trading on Sunday, the opening day of the week.

DSEX, the prime index of the DSE went down by 10.63 points or 0.22 per cent to stand at 4,624.70 points after first 30 minutes of trade at 11am.

DSE Shariah Index (DSES) lost 0.39 points or 0.03 per cent to stands at 1,013.70 points. The DS30 index, comprising blue chips declined 0.38 points or 0.02 per cent to reach at 1,669.29 points.

DSE turnover stands at BDT 310.17 million when the report was filed at 11am. Of the issues traded till then, 84 advanced, 82 declined and 34 remained unchanged.

The port city bourse – the CSE also witnessed negative trend with its Selective Category Index --- CSCX lost 24.73 points or 0.27 per cent to stand at 9,005.70 points, also at 11am.

Of the issues traded till then, 27 gained, 34 declined and 13 remained unchanged with a turnover value of BDT 20 million.
