Bangladesh’s stocks open red

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)-The Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) opened with negative trend in early hours of trading on Monday, the second trading day of the week.

DSEX, the prime index of the DSE, went down by 4.26 points or 0.09 percent to stand at 4,398.24 points after first 30 minutes of trade when the report was filled at 11:00am.

DSE turnover value stands at only BDT 184 million at the time.

Of the issues traded till then, 63 advanced, 75 declined and 42 remained unchanged.

The newcommer Hwa Well Textiles was the most traded stocks with shares worth BDT 11.51 million changing hands till then followed by Al-Haj Textile, GP, Lafarge Surma Cement and BSCCL.

The port city bourse –the CSE – also saw negative trend at opening with its Selective Category Index - CSCX - lost 10.20 points to stand at 8,457.98 points, also at 11:00am.

Of the issues traded till then, 24 gained, 33 declined and 12 remained unchanged with a turnover value of BDT16.34 million.
