Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)-The Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) saw negative trend in early hours of trading on Monday, the second trading day of the week.

DSEX, the prime index of the DSE, went down by 12.17 points or 0.27 percent to stand at 4,398.98 points after first 30 minutes of trade when the report was filed at 11:00am.

The DS30 index, comprising blue chips lost 5.07 points or 0.31 percent to reach at 1,607.15 points.

The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) went down by 1.85 points or 0.18 percent to stands at 995.92 points.

DSE turnover stands at BDT 235.32 million when the report was filed.

Of the issues traded till then, 53 advanced, 82 declined and 35 issues remained unchanged.

Beximco Limited was the most traded stocks with shares worth BDT 28.32 million changing hands till then followed by Appollo Ispat, BSC, Lafarge Surma Cement and Salvo Chemicals.

The port city bourse – the CSE – also saw negative trend at opening with its Selective Category Index – CSCX – lost 4.76 points to stand at 8,398.40 points, also at 11:00am.

Of the issues traded till then, 17 gained, 35 declined and 17 remained unchanged with a turnover value of BDT 20.23 million.
