Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)-Bangladesh’s stocks saw downward trend in early hour of trading on amid modest volatility, the second trading day of the week.
Both the Dhaka Stock Exchange, the prime bourse of Bangladesh, and Chittagong Stock Exchange, the port city bourse of the country, experienced downward trend.
The key index of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) plunged 6.39 points and the port city bourse Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) shedded 1.12 points after 15 minutes of the day’s trading.
DHAKA STOCK EXCHANGE:
DSEX, the prime index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), went down by 6.39 points or 0.13 per cent to reach at 4,648.35 points, when the report was filed at 10:45am.
The DS30 index, comprising blue chips, shed 2.83 points or 0.15 per cent to stand at 1,774.67.
The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) lost 3.35 points or 0.29 per cent to reach at 1,122.12.
DSE turnover stands at BDT 358 million when the report was filed at 10:45am.
Of the issues traded till then, 72 advanced, 62 declined and 43 issues remained unchanged.
Aftab Automobiles was the most traded stocks till then with shares BDT 55 million changing hands followed by Quasem Drycells, Hakkani Pulp & Paper, BSRM Steels and Lafarge Surma Cement.
CHITTAGONG STOCK EXCHANGE:
The port city bourse- the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) also saw negative trend in early hour of trading with its Selective Category Index- CSCX- losing 1.12 points to stand at 8,665.21, also at 10:45am.
Of the issues traded till then, 36 gained, 20 declined and 7 issues remained unchanged with a turnover value of BDT 17 million.
