Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)-The Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) saw negative trend in early hours of trading on Tuesday amid volatility, the third trading day of the week.

DSEX, the prime index of the DSE went down by 0.34 points to stand at 4,376.55 points after first 30 minutes of trade when the report was filed at 11am.

The DS30 index, comprising blue chips lost 1.98 points or 0.12 percent to reach at 1,604.49 points. The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) went down by 0.36 points or 0.03 percent to stands at 997.75 points.

DSE turnover stands at BDT 219 million when the report was filed at 11am. Of the issues traded till then, 88 advanced, 30 declined and 26 issues remained unchanged.

Shahjibazar Power, which made debut trading today, was the most traded stocks with shares worth BDT 104 million changing hands till then followed by Beximco, Square Pharma, Appollo Ispat and GP.

The port city bourse – the CSE also saw negative trend with its Selective Category Index — CSCX – lost 0.78 points to stand at 8,328.01 points, also at 11am.
Of the issues traded till then, 17 gained, 30 declined and 11 remained unchanged with a turnover value of BDT 32 million.
