Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN): The prices of most stocks on the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) opened with an upward trend in the early hours on Wednesday amid countrywide hartal.
The General Index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSEX) went up by 48 points or 1.28 per cent within first 30 minutes of trading to stand at 3,780 points at 11am when the report was filed.
Of the issues traded then, 164 advanced, 15 declined and 18 remained unchanged.
Turnover on the DSE turnover stood at BDT 405 million till the report was filed at 11am.
Orion Pharma topped the turnover chart with shares worth BDT 30 million changing hands till then.
The Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) also opened with a positive trend and the Selective Category Index of the CSE gained 89 points to stand at 7,193 also at 11am.
Of the issues traded then, 915advanced, 10 declined and 7 remained unchanged.
