Bangladesh’s stocks open with positive mood

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN): The prices of most stocks on the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) saw upward trend in the early hours on Thursday amid hartal.

The benchmark Index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSEX) went up by 27 points or 0.73 per cent within first 30 minutes of trading to stand at 3,776 points at 11am when the report was filed.

Of the issues traded then, 140 advanced, 7 declined and 10 remained unchanged.

Turnover on the DSE turnover stood at only BDT 149 million till the report was filed at 11am.

Newly listed Orion Pharma topped the turnover chart with shares worth BDT 25 million changing hands till then.

The Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) also   opened with a positive trend and the Selective Category Index of the CSE gained 55 points to stand at 7,255 points also at 11am.

Of the issues traded then, 66 advanced, 4 declined and 7 remained unchanged.
