Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)-The Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) saw sharp gain in early hours of trading on Sunday, maintaining the previous week’s steep gain.
DSEX, the prime index of the DSE, went up by 61.86 points or 1.23 percent to stands at 5,088.79 points after first 30 minutes of trade when the report was filed at 11:00am.
The DS30 index, comprising blue chips soared 22.90 points or 1.17 percent to reach at 1,972.53 points.
The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) advanced 12.77 points or 1.08 percent to stands at 1,194.45 points.  
DSE turnover stands at BDT 1.88 billion when the report was filed at 11:00am.
Of the issues traded till then, 154 advanced, 43 declined and 20 issues remain unchanged.
Delta Life Insurance was the most traded stocks with shares worth BDT 148 million changing hands till then followed by Beximco, Beximco Pharma, MJL BD, and IDLC Finance.
The port city bourse – the CSE also saw steep gain in early hour with its Selective Category Index — CSCX – gained 112.21 points to stand at 9,551.27 points, also at 11:00am.
Of the issues traded till then, 73 gained, 26 declined and 7 remained unchanged with a turnover value of BDT 109 million.
