Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)-Bangladesh’s stocks witnessed positive trend in early hour of trading on Wednesday, the fourth trading session of the week.
Both the Dhaka Stock Exchange, the prime bourse of Bangladesh, and Chittagong Stock Exchange, the port city bourse of the country, experienced upward trend till filed the report at 10:45am.
The key index of the DSE advanced 13.69 points, while the Selective Category Index of port city bourse rose 23.67 points within 15 minutes of the day’s trading at 10:45am.
DHAKA STOCK EXCHANGE:
DSEX, the prime index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), went up by 13.69 points or 0.31 per cent to stand at 4,426.21 points, when the report was filed at 10:45am.
The DS30 index, comprising blue chips, advanced 9.39 points or 0.54 per cent to reach at 1,749.04 points.
The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) also gained 3.77 points or 0.35 per cent to reach at 1,088.20 points.
DSE turnover stands at only BDT 172 million when the report was filed at 10:45am, riding on the new issue ACME Laboratories.
Of the issues traded till then, 81 advanced, 39 declined and 26 issues remained unchanged.
ACME Laboratories, which made debut on Tuesday, dominated the turnover chart with shares worth BDT 47 million changing hands till then, followed by Lafarge Surma Cement, Shahjibazar Power Company, Tosrifa Industries and Power Grid Company.
CHITTAGONG STOCK EXCHANGE:
The port city bourse also saw upward trend at opening with its Selective Category Index- CSCX– advancing 23.67 points to stand at 8,272.28 points, also at 10:45am.
Of the issues traded till then, 23 gained, 3 declined 7 issues remained unchanged with a turnover value of BDT 20 million.
