Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) – Bangladesh’s stocks witnessed upward trend in early hour of trading on Sunday, the opening session of the week, as optimistic investors were on buying mood.
Both bourses – the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) saw positive trend in early trading.
After 15 minutes of trading, the key index of the country’s prime bourse advanced 13.34 points while the Selective Category Index of port city bourse gained 24.10 points when the report was filing at 10:45am.
DHAKA STOCK EXCHANGE:
After two days positive ending, DSEX, the benchmark index of the DSE, went up by 13.34 points or 0.24 per cent to stand at 5638.67 points, when the report was filed at 10:45am.
The two other indices also saw upward note till then.
The DS30 index, comprising blue chips, advanced 5.26 points or 0.26 per cent to reach at 2041.46 points.
The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) also gained 4.60 points or 0.35 per cent to stand at 1,314.07 points till then.
Turnover, the important indicator of the market, stands at BDT 1.59 billion when the report was filed at 10:45 million riding on Titas Gas and LankaBangla Finance.
Titas Gas dominated the turnover chart with shares worth BDT 141 million changing hands till then, followed by LankaBangla Finance BDT 69 million, DESCO BDT 60 million and Quasem Drycells BDT 56 million.
Of the issues traded till then, 128 advanced, 67 declined and 28 issues remained unchanged.
CHITTAGONG STOCK EXCHANGE:
The port city bourse CSE also saw positive trend till then with its Selective Category Index - CSCX – advancing 24.10 points to stand at 10588.27 points, also at 10:45am.
Of the issues traded till then, 56 gained, 21 declined and 18 issues remained unchanged with a turnover value of BDT 44 million.
