Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) – Bangladesh’s stocks witnessed positive trend in early hour of trading on Sunday, the opening trading session of the week.
Both bourses - the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) saw positive trend till the report was filed at 10:45am.
The key index of the DSE advanced 17.44 points, while the Selective Category Index of port city bourse gained 31.44 points within first 15 minutes of the day’s trading at 10:45am.
DHAKA STOCK EXCHANGE:
DSEX, the prime index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), went up by 17.44 points or 0.31 per cent to stand at 5,718 points, when the report was filed at 10:45am.
The two other indices also open positive.
The DS30 index, comprising blue chips, advanced 6.90 points or 0.33 per cent to reach at 2066.53 points.
The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) also advanced 1.82 points or 0.13 per cent to stand at 1,312.89 points.
Turnover, the important indicator of the market, stands at BDT 1.33 million when the report was filed at 10:45 million, riding on LankaBangla Finance and Eastern Housing.
LankaBangla Finance dominated the turnover chart with shares worth BDT 115 million changing hands till then, followed by Eastern Housing BDT 63 million, Premier Leasing BDT 51 million, Union Capital BDT 49 million and Islami Bank BDT 43 million.
Of the issues traded till then, 144 advanced, 63 declined and 28 issues remained unchanged.
CHITTAGONG STOCK EXCHANGE:
The port city bourse CSE also saw positive trend till then with its Selective Category Index - CSCX – gaining 31.44 points to stand at 10,761 points, also at 10:45am.
Of the issues traded till then, 70 gained, 22 declined and 15 issues remained unchanged with a turnover value of BDT 44 million.
