Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) – Bangladesh’s stocks tumbled in early hours of trading on Monday, the second trading session of the week amid gloomy market outlook.
DSEX, the prime index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) went down by 56.67 points or 1.21 percent to reach at 4,598.28 points after first 30 minutes of trade when the report was filed at 11am.
The DS30 index, comprising blue chips lost 22.84 points or 1.32 percent to reach at 1,700.70 points. The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) plunged 13.07 points or 1.18 percent to stand at 1,086.38 points.  
DSE turnover stands at BDT 175 million when the report was filed at 11am.
Of the issues traded till then, 21 advanced, 184 declined and 10 issues remain unchanged.
CVO Petrochemical was the most traded stocks with shares worth BDT 8.94 million changing hands till then followed by SPCL, C&A Textiles, Lafarge Surma Cement and Beximco.
The port city bourse – the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) also saw downward trend in early hours of trading with its Selective Category Index — CSCX – lost 49.61 points to stand at 8,664.91 points, also at 11am.
Of the issues traded till then, 7 gained, 59 declined and 11 remained unchanged with a turnover value of BDT 12.05 million.
