Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) –Bangladesh’s stocks witnessed downward trend in early hour of trading on Tuesday amid choppy trading, the third session of the week.
DSEX, the prime index of the DSE, went down by 19.88 points or 0.41 percent to reach at 4,774.11, after first 30 minutes of trade, when the report was filed at 11:00am.
The DS30 index, comprising blue chips, lost 9.44 points or 0.52 percent to stand at 1,822.61.
The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) dropped 5.07 points or 0.43 percent to stand at 1,172.95.
Turnover on the DSE stands at BDT 660 million when the report was filed.
Of the issues traded till then, 63 advanced, 148 declined and 46 issues remained unchanged.
Shahjibazar Power Company was the most traded stocks till then with shares worth BDT 45 million changing hands followed by Apex Tannery, United Power, Lafarge Surma Cement and Apex Foods.
The port city bourse – the CSE – also saw downward trend in early hour of trading with its Selective Category Index – CSCX – lost 36.42 points to stand at 8,920.55, also at 11:00am.
Of the issues traded till then, 19 gained, 79 declined and 16 issues remained unchanged with a turnover value of BDT 43 million.
