Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) - Bangladesh’s stocks witnessed positive trend in early trading on Thursday as some optimistic investors active on sector specific stocks.
Following the previous day’s correction, both bourses –the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) – opened positive.
After 15 minutes of trading, the key index of the country’s prime bourse advanced 7.30 points while the Selective Category Index of port city bourse gained 12 points when the report was filing at 10:45am.
DHAKA STOCK EXCHANGE:
DSEX, the benchmark index of the DSE, went up by 7.30 points or 0.13 percent to stand at 5,562.40 points, when the report was filed at 10:45am.
The DS30 index, comprising blue chips, advanced 4.03 points or 0.19 percent to reach at 2,059.21 points.
The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) also rose 1.17 points or 0.09 percent to stand at 1,280.89 points till then.
Turnover, the important indicator of the market, stands at only BDT 456 million when the report was filed at 10:45 million.
Islamic Finance led the turnover chart with shares worth BDT 53 million changing hands till then, closely followed by Saif Powertec BDT 46 million, Exim Bank BDT 45 million, BDCOM Online BDT 36 million and LankaBangla Finance BDT 27 million.
Of the issues traded till then, 90 advanced, 46 declined and 36 issues remained unchanged.
CHITTAGONG STOCK EXCHANGE:
The port city bourse CSE also saw positive trend with its Selective Category Index – CSCX – advancing 12 points to stand at 10,457 points, also at 10:45am.
Of the issues traded till then, 27 gained, 17 declined and 6 issues remained unchanged with a turnover value of BDT 15 million.
