Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) – Bangladesh’s stocks returned to negative trend at midday on Sunday as cautious investors went on selling mood, the first trading session after budget declaration.
Following the previous three days’ positive trend, the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) opened lower while the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) saw positive trend in early trading.
After 30 minutes of trading, the key index of the country’s prime bourse fell 13.34 points while the Selective Category Index of port city bourse advanced 19 points when the report was filing at 10:30am.
After first hour of trading, the DSEX, the prime index of the DSE stands at 5437 points, losing 1.72 points while the Selective Category Index of port city bourse advanced 11 points at 11:00am.
After two hours of the trading, DSEX went down by 7.60 points while the Selective Category Index of port city’s bourse fell 3.90 points when the report was filing at 12noon.
DHAKA STOCK EXCHANGE:
After first half of trading, DSEX, the prime index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) stands at 5,424 points, losing 7.60 points or 0.14 percent at 12noon.
However, the DS30 index, comprising blue chips advanced 1.64 points or 0.08 percent to reach at 2024 points. The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) also gained 0.85 points or 0.06 percent to reach at 1,260 points.
Turnover, the crucial indicator of the market, stands at BDT 2.02 billion, when the report was filed at 12noon.
MJL Bangladesh topped the turnover chart with shares worth BDT 145 million changing hands till then, closely followed by United Power BDT 132 million, Regent Textile BDT 118 million, Ratanpur Steels BDT 112 million and LankaBangla BDT 82 million.
Of the issues traded till then, 102 advanced, 137 declined and 64 issues remained unchanged on the DSE trading floor.
CHITTAGONG STOCK EXCHANGE:
The port city bourse – the Chittagong Stock Exchange – (CSE) also saw negative trend with its Selective Category Index – CSCX –losing 3.90 points to stand at 10,204 points, also at 12noon.
Of the issues traded till then, 55 gained, 61 declined and 28 issues remained unchanged with BDT 80 billion in turnover.
