Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)– Bangladesh’s stocks returned to the green territory on Monday after previous session’s flat movement with turnover improving slightly as investors took position on large-cap stocks.
DSEX, the prime index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) went up by 18.78 points or 0.38 percent to close at 4,868.47 points.
The two others indices also closed in green. The DS30, comprising blue chips gained 12.01 points or 0.67 percent to close at 1,802.42 points. The DSE Shariah Index advanced 4.64 points or 0.40 percent to close at 1,148.87 points.
Turnover stood at BDT 2.67 billion, registering an increase of 12.65 percent over the previous session’s value of BDT 2.37 billion.
The gainers took a lead over the losers as out of 306 issues traded, 141 advanced, 118 declined and 47 remained unchanged on the DSE floor.  
Lafarge Surma Cement was the most traded stock with shares worth BDT 152.93 million changing hands followed by Western Marine, Square Pharma, IDLC and RAK Ceramics.
The port city bourse, Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) also closed in positive with its Selective Categories Index – CSCX – gained 5.22 points to close at 9,099.71 points.
Gainers beat losers 116 to 98, with 37 issues remaining unchanged at the port city bourse that traded 7.05 million shares and mutual fund units, turnover value of BDT 222.99 million.
