Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)-Bangladesh’s stocks returned to the green on Monday as optimistic investors went for buying spree.
DSEX, the benchmark index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSEX), ended at 4,394.94 points, gaining 20.75 points or 0.47 percent.
The DS30, comprising blue chips gained 14.46 points or 0.90 percent to close at 1,605.67 points.
The DSES rose 7.44 points or 1.46 percent to close at 991.71 points.
DSE turnover stood at BDT 3.09 billion, registering an increase of 17.49 percent over the previous session’s value of BDT 2.63 billion.
Out of 298 issues traded, 174 advanced, 92 declined and 32 remained unchanged on the DSE floor.
Beximco Limited was the most traded stock for the seventh sessions with shares worth BDT 426.02 million changing hands followed by Shahjibazar Power, Square Pharma, Olympic and BSC.
Exim Bank First Mutual Fund was the day’s highest gainer, posting a rise of 8.86 percent while Standard Insurance was the day’s worst loser, slumping by 4.72 percent.
The port city bourse, Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) also ended higher with its Selective Categories Index – CSCX – gained 53.42 points to close at 8,345.11 points.
Gainers beat losers 99 to 68, with 36 issues remaining unchanged at the port city bourse that traded 6.68 million shares and mutual fund units, turnover value of BDT 242.74 million.
