Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)-The Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) saw sharp rise in early hours of trading on Thursday, the last trading day before prolonged Eid and Puja vacation.
DSEX, the prime index of the DSE, went up by 57.28 points or 1.11 percent to stands at 5,210.55 points after first 30 minutes of trade when the report was filed at 11:00am.
The DS30 index, comprising blue chips gained 14.23 points or 0.71 per cent to reach at 1,999.80 points.
The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) rose 8.44 points or 0.69 pecent to stands at 1,222.57 points.  
DSE turnover stands at BDT 1.12 billion when the report was filed.
Of the issues traded till then, 165 advanced, 23 declined and 8 issues remain unchanged.
Titas Gas was the most traded stocks with shares worth Tk 145 million changing hands till then followed by Delta Life Insurance, Peoples Leasing and City Bank.
The port city bourse – the CSE – also saw steep gain in early hour with its Selective Category Index – CSCX – gained 71.42 points to stand at 9,716.93 points, also at 11:00am.
Of the issues traded till then, 71 gained, 21 declined and 3 remained unchanged with a turnover value of Tk 48 million.
