Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN): The Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) opened with a negative mood at early hours on Thursday amid countrywide hartal.

The General Index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSEX) went down by 77.79 points within first 30 minutes of trading at 11.30am to stand at 4,676.33 points when the report was filed.

Of the issues traded then, 153 advanced, 53 declined and 14 remained unchanged.

Turnover at DSE stood at BDT 2.06 billion till the report was filed at 11.30am.

Meghna Petroleum was the most traded stocks with shares worth BDT 288 million changing hands till then.

The Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) opened with a negative note with the Selective Category Index of the CSE lost 19.03 points to stand at 8,435.22 points also at 11.30am.

Of the issues traded then, 78 advanced, 26 declined and 13 remained unchanged with 170 million turnover value till the report was filed.
