Bangladesh’s stocks see downtrend at opening

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN): The Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) opened with a negative mood at early hours on Wednesday amid volatility.

The General Index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSEX) went down by 9.21 points within first 30 minutes of trading at 11.30am to stand at 4,215.14 points when the report was filed.

Of the issues traded then, 69 advanced, 90 declined and 31 remained unchanged.

Turnover at DSE stood at BDT 935 billion till the report was filed at 11.30am.

Padma Oil Company was the most traded stocks with shares worth BDT 61 million changing hands till then.

The Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) opened with a negative note with the Selective Category Index of the CSE lost 16.83 points to stand at 7,740.98 points also at 11.30am.

Of the issues traded then, 27 advanced, 52 declined and 13 remained unchanged with 50.59 million turnover value till the report was filed.
