Bangladesh’s stocks see downtrend at opening

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN): The prices of most stocks on the both bourses---Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) witnessed downward trend in the early hours on Monday, maintaining previous fourth session losing streak.

The benchmark Index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSEX) went down by 44.59 points or 1.15 per cent within first 30 minutes of trading to stand at 3828.87 points at 11am when the report was filed.

Of the issues traded then, 13 advanced, 111 declined and 14 remained unchanged.

Turnover on the premier bourse and stood at BDT 260 million till the report was filed at 11am.

Newly listed Global Heavy Chemicals topped the turnover chart with shares worth BDT 47 million changing hands till then.

The Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) also opened with a negative trend and the Selective Category Index of the CSE lost 65 points to stand at 7,445 points also at 11am.

Of the issues traded then, 13 advanced, 52 declined and 11 remained unchanged.
