Bangladesh’s stocks see downtrend at opening

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN): The prices of most stocks on the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) saw negative trend in the early hours on Wednesday.

The benchmark Index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSEX) went down by 8.90 points or 0.22 per cent within first 30 minutes of trading to stand at 3,967.99 points at 11am when the report was filed.

Of the issues traded then, 36 advanced, 59 declined and 20 remained unchanged.

Turnover on the DSE turnover stood at only BDT 183 million till the report was filed at 11am.

Newly listed Orion Pharma topped the turnover chart with shares worth BDT 109.77 million changing hands till then.

The Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) also   opened with a negative trend and the Selective Category Index of the CSE lost 20.73 points to stand at 7,705.63 points also at 11am.

Of the issues traded then, 14 advanced, 38 declined and 7 remained unchanged.
