Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN): The prices of most stocks on the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) opened with a negative trend in the early hours on Thursday amid countrywide hartal.
The General Index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSEX) went down by 15.99 points or 0.42 per cent within first 30 minutes of trading to stand at 3,722 points at 11am when the report was filed.
Of the issues traded then, 42 advanced, 98 declined and 16 remained unchanged.
Turnover on the DSE turnover stood at BDT 153 million till the report was filed at 11am.United Airways topped the turnover chart with shares worth BDT 20 million changing hands till then.
The Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) also opened with a negative trend and the Selective Category Index of the CSE lost 30 points to stand at 7,112 also at 11am.
Of the issues traded then, 15 advanced, 53 declined and 7 remained unchanged.
