Bangladesh’s stocks see downtrend at opening

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN): The prices of most stocks on the bourses--- the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) opened with a negative trend on Monday amid fresh political tension.

The General Index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSEX) went down by 7.80 points within first 30 minutes of trading to stand at 3,647.50 points at 11am when the report was filed.

Of the issues traded then, 19 advanced, 88 declined and 18 remained unchanged.

Turnover on is very slow at DSE and stood at BDT 65 million till the report was filed at 11am.

United Airways is most traded stocks with shares worth BDT 6.30 million changing hands till then.

The Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) opened with a negative trend with the Selective Category Index of the CSE lost 10.25 points to stand at 6,820 also at 11am.

Of the issues traded then, 12 advanced, 40 declined and 7 remained unchanged.
