Bangladesh’s stocks see downward trend at opening

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN): The prices of most stocks on the two bourses--- the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) opened with a negative trend on Thursday, the last trading day of the week.

The General Index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSEX) went down by 21.24 points within first 30 minutes of trading to stand at 3,597.24 points at 11am when the report was filed.

Of the issues traded then, 60 advanced, 90 declined and 19 remained unchanged.

Turnover on the DSE turnover stood at BDT 177.46 million till the report was filed at 11am.

Beximco Limited was the topped turnover chart with shares worth BDT 17.46 million changing hands till then.

The Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) opened with a negative trend with the Selective Category Index of the CSE lost 61.89 points to stand at 6,699 also at 11am.

Of the issues traded then, 13 advanced, 44 declined and 7 remained unchanged.
