Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) – Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) saw upward trend in early hours of trading on Wednesday, the fourth trading day of the week.

DSEX, the prime index of the DSE went up by 17.43 points or 0.39 percent to stand at 4,433.19 points after first 30 minutes of trade when the report was filled at 11am.

DSE turnover stands at BDT 330 million when the report was filed at 11am. Of the issues traded till then, 111 advanced, 21 declined and 30 remained unchanged.

Lafarge Surma cement was the most traded stocks with shares worth BDT 75 million changing hands till then followed by Eastern Housing, GP, BSRM Steels and Meghna Cement.

The port city bourse –the CSE also saw positive trend at opening with its Selective Category Index – CSCX gained 27.34 points to stand at 8,505.38 points, also at 11am.

Of the issues traded till then, 39 gained, 12 declined and 9 remained unchanged with a turnover value of BDT 20 million.
