Bangladesh’s stocks see sharp gain

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) - The Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) witnessed sharp gain in early hours of trading on Tuesday, the third trading day of the week.
DSEX, the prime index of the DSE went up by 45.43 points or 0.99 percent to stand at 4,609.78 points after first 30 minutes of trade when the report was filed at 11am.
The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) advanced by 15.76 points or 0.91 percent to stands at 1,072.83 points.  The DS30 index, comprising blue chips gained 9.80 points or 0.92 percent to reach at 1,744.21 points.
DSE turnover stands at BDT 1.06 billion when the report was filed at 11am.
Of the issues traded till then, 163 advanced, 18 declined and 23 issues remain unchanged.
Beximco Pharma was the most traded stocks with shares worth BDT 106.16 million changing hands till then followed by BSRM Steels, MJL BD, Beximco and United Airways.
The port city bourse – the CSE also saw positive trend in early hour with its Selective Category Index -- CSCX – gained 49.28 points to stand at 8,663.47 points, also at 11am.
Of the issues traded till then, 53 gained, 19 declined and 9 remained unchanged with a turnover value of BDT 62 million.
