Bangladesh’s stocks see uptrend at opening

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN): Shares prices on the both bourses---Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) witnessed positive trend in the early hours on Thursday.

The General Index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DGEN) gained 14.45 points within first one hour of trading to stand at 4,048 points at 11.30am when the report was filed.

Of the issues traded then, 137 advanced, 43 declined and 18 remained unchanged.

Turnover on the premier bourse and stood at BDT 360 million till the report was filed at 11.30am.

Summit Purbanchol Power Company Limited topped the turnover chart with shares worth BDT 48 million changing hands till then.

The Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) also opened with a positive trend and the Selective Category Index of the CSE stands at 7,911 points after gaining13.11 points also at 11.30am.

Of the issues traded then, 53 advanced, 36 declined and 10 remained unchanged.
